The Top of Iowa Welcome Center is a tribute to the agrarian roots of Iowa. The center and rest area have provided comfort and convenience to over 500,000 travelers each year since opening in June of 1998. The primary welcome center serves travelers from all directions.

Friendly and knowledgable staff provide information to our visitors on all of the State of Iowa's attractions. A very unique part of the welcome center is the gift shop. The Barn Boutique features local "folk artists" and their creations. Hope to see you soon!

Dows Welcome Center

The depot is furnished with railroad memorabilia as well as local historical items. Over 20,000 visitors have registered here each year. There is a section within the Center where hand made items, Iowa souvenirs and gifts are sold. A telephone, free restrooms, and information about other Iowa attractions are in the Center for travelers¹ convenience.
